Frequently asked questions

Clear information is part of responsible care.

A first conversation can help organize the next step.

What is the difference between psychological and neuropsychological assessment?

Psychological assessment addresses questions related to emotional, behavioral and personality functioning. Neuropsychological assessment also examines cognitive functions such as attention, memory, reasoning, language and executive functions.

Is an assessment only a series of tests?

No. Tests are one part of the process. Interviews, clinical observation, personal history and information from other contexts may also be integrated.

Do you assess children and adults?

Yes. Clínica Ler assesses children aged 6 and older, adolescents, adults and older adults. Family and school information may be included when relevant and authorized.

What is twice-exceptionality?

It is the coexistence of giftedness with another condition such as autism, ADHD, a learning disorder or emotional difficulties.

Can sessions take place online?

Psychotherapy may take place in person or online. Neuropsychological assessment may also be provided online when age, the clinical question, context and required instruments support a technically appropriate remote process. The initial screening determines whether an online, in-person or hybrid format is most suitable.

How long does an online neuropsychological assessment take?

The usual estimate is 6 to 10 sessions, including the interview, assessment sessions, integration of findings and feedback. The number may vary with complexity, age, complementary information and individual pace.

How do payment, installments and reimbursement work?
  1. Private-pay care: Clínica Ler does not bill health insurance plans directly.
  2. Installments: services may be paid in up to 12 credit-card installments. Terms are provided before care begins.
  3. Invoice for reimbursement: the clinic issues an invoice for services provided. It may be submitted to a health plan, but eligibility, reimbursement amounts and required documents depend on each patient’s policy.
  4. International patients: payment may also be made through Wise.
